Entry 20/1/2018 News Alert regarding CVS and AIS Notice 35
Just before Christmas RMS issued advice to all Blue Slip inspectors (AIS Notice 35) notifying them that they could no longer accept pre 2012 engineering certificates issued under the old ECS system for blue slip purposes. This had implications for modified historic vehicles and for the CVS scheme as a whole. On Friday 13th January RMS announced that the Notice 35 has been withdrawn. On behalf of all owners of modified vehicles with ECS certification this Association wishes to extend our grateful thanks to the senior members of the ACMC who met with various officials involved to explain the implications that concerned us and to seek solutions. We should also express our gratitude to the Minister Melinda Pavey for her understanding and concern as well as the RMS officials who have taken quick action to resolve the problems. Over the coming weeks RMS will consult with ACMC and other parties to find workable registration arrangements for modified vehicles with old engineering. Further advice will be supplied directly to our clubs as it becomes available.
